Mr Mdu Sibiya is the Chief Safety Officer.
He holds the following qualifications:
- Safety Diploma and a Safety Officer’s certificate from Chamber of Mines South Africa;
- He has also acquired SHE Practitioner certificate from International Risk Control Academy (IRCA);
- Integrated Management System qualification from ISOQAR for lead auditors;
- Legal Liability certificate from Anglo Development Centre;
- Street Law intermediate certificate from UNISA; and
- SHE International risk management certificate for process (IRCA).
He has worked for Sappi Ngodwana Mill (Pulp and Paper) as an Assist Risk Superintendent for plant shut down and projects; Corocoat South Africa (Corrosion protection and engineering) as SHE officer; and Bokoni Platinum Mine as Safety officer and Khobongo SHEQ Consulting as Director.
He is currently enrolled with Unisa for NDSM and applied for professional registration with IOSM (Institute for Safety Management)
Mr Mdu Sibiya is a qualified and accredited lead auditor by ISOQAR in Integrated Management Systems based on Quality Management System (QMS), Environmental Management System (EMS) and (Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) system. He has an all-encompassing experience in risk assessment, accident investigations, contractor management, audits, inspections including safety management systems for processing plants and mining operations.
