09 August is a special day in our South African national calendar. It is the day we celebrate our Women’s Day and in 2014 BBP Mining and Projects CC celebrated this special day for their ladies for the first time in the company’s five year history.
The celebration was held on the 15th of August 2014 in Polokwane. In attendance were our guests of honour, the five ladies that are currently working in the company (see photo gallery). The event was also made all the more credible by the presence of BBP Mining and Projects CC’s three excom members namely, Mr S. D. Phaladi (CEO and Member), Mr E. K. Phaladi (Director: Transport and Member) and Mr D. I Ngwenya (Director: Construction). The host for the evening was Mr M. A. Ngidi the Human Resources Manager.
On the night the ladies got to spend time with the Directors and have dinner with them. The discussions were light and social. At the end of the evening the CEO handed put special gifts to our ladies as a gesture of the company’s appreciation of their contribution to the growth of BBP Mining and Projects CC especially in the last two years.
The company would like to extend a heart felt thank you to Miss R. V. Phaladi (HR Assistant); Miss J. R. Mokgaphane (Loco Operator); Miss G. Tshakumbila (Loco Operator); Miss P. S. Kgoale (PA to the CEO) and Miss B. Leso (HR Officer) our ladies of BBP Mining and Projects CC. They have shown that competency transgresses gender and have played their part in the male dominated Mining, Construction and Transport industries that BBP Mining and Projects CC does business.
At BBP Mining and Projects CC we believe that everyday should be treated as women’s day, however it was much appreciated by our ladies that at least once a year we should stop and clap for the mothers and daughters of this great country louder than normal.
Until next year’s standing ovation for our ladies, BBP Mining and Projects CC here to excel in gender equality and employee satisfaction. We hope next year’s event will have more ladies but just as family orientated as the inaugural event was this year.
